DATA STORAGE

Primary department storage: 285 TB NFS file server comprised of a NEXSAN E48 10gB iSCSI storage appliance.

Backup/Archival storage: 80 TB of archival disk storage utilized for disk-to-disk copies of critical department data.

VISUALIZATION

Chevron Visualization Center is part of the EEPS Visualization Laboratory in KWGL 306. The visualization wall is a 33 Megapixel, 8 ft x 14 ft vertical screen consisting of 16 Barco projectors (4 x 4) with infrared tracking for 3D data interpretation.

SERVICES

Authentication server, web servers, and other shared functions such as network licensing are deployed in virtual containers hosted on a Dell Poweredge R520, 128G RAM, with dual Intel Xeon E5-2450 processors.

Most faculty members own servers and/or local MacIntosh networks, and mass storage systems.
