Born and raised in New York State on a re-activated section of the Grenville Orogeny. Having rocks outside my bedroom window guaranteed my career as a geologist, although I trespassed into several other fields before settling in. I love to travel, with a history or archaeology guide in one hand and geologic map in the other. Both passions provide plenty of opportunities to hike and explore all the corners of the world.
