Ms. Hou received her B.S. degree in Resources Prospecting Engineering at Xi’an Shiyou University, China in 2016. During the undergraduate study, she took part in the National Innovation Experiments Program for College Students. Over the course of this program, she did research on characteristics of source rocks and hydrocarbon generating potential in Chang 1 oil-bearing stratum in Panlong Oilfield, Ordos basin. Her internship in Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Company enabled her to understand the workflow of oil and gas exploration and production which in turn deepened her understanding toward geology. She is now enrolled in the Professional Science Master’s Program in Subsurface Geoscience to deepen her understanding towards geology and to make better preparation for the future job in oil and gas industry.
