Jacob Proctor is presently a Rice University MSc graduate student under Professor Andre Droxler in the Earth Science Department. His research into the Upper Cambrian Microbial reefs outcropping in Mason county Texas, has utilized CT scanning technology to generate mineralogical trends from whole core in the dominate facies. He has additionally pioneered a method that tracks the extent of diagenetic alteration in log form.
Since graduating from University of Texas at Austin in 2007 with a double major (BSc Geological Science and BA Physical Anthropology), he worked for Ingrain Inc. Early in 2010 he was transferred to Rio de Janeiro Brazil as technical Manager for the region. He led research, operations, client interfacing, became conversational in Portuguese, and has studied core from off and on shore Brazilian oil and gas reservoirs.
